In 2016, the Whitney Museum of American Art presented the first comprehensive retrospective of filmmaker, photographer, and Civil Rights icon, Danny Lyon’s work.
Entitled “Danny Lyon: A Message to the Future”, what does it look like when the future writes back? What can be said for the progress that has been made, and what might that mean for the work that remains?
The mixed media I have created for this page explores these themes. Many thanks to the artists, participants, and acute observers who helped to pave the way.
